اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُه

Aroma’s waft through the air. Pots are stirred, packed, or steamed. Mixers whirring in the background. Butter, sugar, eggs, flavourings, and colourings spread across the kitchen counters. Biscuits, tarts, cakes, and more, baking in the ovens. Mothers and daughters are busy, laying the table. It is colourful, elegant, and stylish. Glasses sparkle, plates shine, the silver is polished, and the gold shimmers… Before long, ladies are applying mendhi, or henna… melodious voices come together, singing all the Eid nasheeds, reviving memories of our childhoods, while passing on the traditions to our children..

After a month of fasting, the joyous day of Eidul Fitr has arrived… Remember the Takbeer.. Remember the blessings of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’aala.. Remember these happy and joyful times… Remember our brothers and sisters suffering all over the world, especially in Palestine, Yemen, China, and Rohingya… Remember us all in your Du’aa on this special day.
