Travel Restrictions Lifted In South Africa

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Its the 1st of October 2020 and the travel restrictions were lifted at midnight.

But what exactly does this mean?

Airports & Borders

The three international airports, namely OR Tambo, King Shaka & Cape Town International, as well as 18 land borders will be opened.

Travellers

Since inbound as well as outbound travel will be allowed, we should keep in mind that only travellers from countries that are deemed safe will be allowed to enter. In addition each traveller entering the country must produce a negative COVID-19 test which is less than 72 hours old.

Each traveller will also be asked to install the COVID ALERT app on their mobiles.

For those entering without a negative COVID – 19 certificate, will be required to go for mandatory quarantine at their own cost.

Visa applications and all long term visas will be reinstated for South African missions abroad.

All domestic interprovincial flights for business and leisure purposes will continue, and international travel will be subject to further regulations and conditions as of today.

All hotels and accommodation establishments are allowed to operate within the current stipulated regulations. Staff are to undergo a detailed training and should anyone develop symptoms of the pandemic, they are to inform their employer/s immediately.

Tour operators, tour guides, travel agencies etc. are allowed to operate in their current environments.

Rules To Adhere To

Please keep in mind that it is mandatory for masks to be worn in public and social distancing of 1.5 metres is to be maintained at all times.

Gatherings held indoors are limited to 250 people and outdoor functions are limited to 500 people at most.

Don’t forget to sanitize your hands, surfaces and keep safe while enjoying all that SA has to offer.

السلام عليكم و رحمةالله و بركاته

How many times a year do you travel?
Once? Twice? More than that?

What applications do you use via your mobile phone or tablet?

From flights and accommodation to theatre shows, movies and dinner reservations, there’s an application available for most of these.

Albeit that South Africa is still playing catch up with some of these apps, there is quite a variety of apps available.

The following are ones I’ve personally used and continue to use especially when traveling:

#FlyMango

#Emirates

#QatarAirways

#Passbook (iPhone app)

#LoungeBuddy

#Booking.com (if you really can’t find accommodation at any hotel, this app has guesthouses and hotels that are listed… ask a lot of questions before booking!!)

#Foursquare & #Swarm (Apparently we cant use Foursquare alone anymore to check in… )

#XECurrency

#TripIT

#Whatsapp

#AccuWeather

#GoogleTranslate

#GoogleMaps

Of Course the normal applications have to be on here too:

#Facebook

#Skype

#Twitter

#Tumblr

#Instagram &

#Pinterest

I’d love to hear what applications all of you use, whether on a daily basis or just occasionally, and what you find useful about them.

Keep safe and enjoy the holiday break insha Allah.

Lifestyle: Changing For The Better

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Hi everyone!!

This past month and a half has been rather amazing for me personally.
Even at 30 000ft in the air, you were all in my thoughts as I typed out so many posts, but once I was on solid ground, I never published any of them because it seemed as though something was missing.

In mid – February, I’d gone to Thailand and was amazed by all I saw and did.
I have a firm intention of going back there one day, انشأ الله،
أمين

Just before I left, an awesome sister of mine had begun a weight-loss and health program to have a better lifestyle. A healthier lifestyle.
Inspired by the changes she had, I decided to give it a try as well.

So far, I’ve had amazing results and plan to continue in changing my life for the better.
Amazingly, I’ve begun loving working out… This coming from someone that hates to sweat!!!

With all of that, not only have I changed my lifestyle, but I’ve also changed a particular personal space of mine. Inspired by my travels, I’m a lot more at ease and feel calmer for sure.

It amazes me how little changes make such huge differences.

I realize that I’m being very evasive with details right now, but I will be publishing details in later posts.

I have some interesting things lines for you all, I hope it makes up for the time I’ve been away.

Take care for now

وعليكم السلام و رحمة الله و بركاته
