السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Spring is a rather special season. It symbolises a new beginning, a clean slate, a fresh start.
To me it feels like a fresh, new start.
Getting your home ready for Spring is really great.
No. 1.
Beginning Fresh
I love when my home smells fresh, and am a huge fan of all things fresh scented. Whether the scent is in a spray, diffuser, mist or candle form, it shall be sprayed, diffused, misted or lit whenever I’m home.
Freshly laundered curtains, bed linen and clothes are just the beginning steps to a ‘Spring Clean’. As are wiping out cupboards, washing out anything that has lost its sparkle, and dusting and vacuuming anything that needs it.
No. 2.
A Big Clear Out & Declutter
I get that this is daunting just thinking of it, however, once you’ve begun, you’ll come across a plethora of items that either haven’t been used in ages, been bought in quadruple or more ( no, you don’t NEED 4 ice cream scoops or 5 graters! ) or perhaps it’s something chipped, broken or missing a part… get rid of it if you can.
Before you know it, you’ll not only have more storage available to you, but you’ll be most likely knee deep in pile of items that could be better used by family or friends or could be donated to those less fortunate or to shelters etc.
No. 3.
Food
I have a great love for good food, and an even greater love for food that looks as good as it tastes.
I love having somewhat of a planned menu, or having a plan at least, when it comes to food that I would like to prepare or have at least once during this season.
Considering I live in an apartment, I don’t have the luxury of planting a vegetable garden or herb garden or floral garden, however, we do have access to buying fresh vegetables, herbs, fruits & flowers.
Make a list of dishes, desserts, salads etc that you’d love to try out. It could be as simple or as complicated as you’d like.
Don’t forget to picnic treats too!
No. 4.
Beautifying Your Surroundings
We all love beautiful surroundings, and that may be painting a room, adding fresh flowers to vase and putting it in your favourite area in your home, or hanging a painting up on a blank wall.
No. 5.
Self Care
Yes, this has made the Spring list!
Gather your favourite scrubs, foams, elixirs, serums, creams, lotions, masks, and moisturisers, and have yourself a wonderful time using them.
Scrub away the winter dryness and replace your skin’s wonderful moisture levels and glow with your chosen products.
Is there any better feeling than clean, glowing, moisturised skin?
And that’s the end of my list currently. Feel free to add more Spring tips in the comments section, I’d love to read them.
Wishing you a refreshing, happy, safe Spring day/ Arbour day in South Africa.
وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته
