Winter Blues…?

Salaam and hello to everyone

So winter’s begun, and there’s nothing better than a crackling fire in the fireplace to warm up the house, and perhaps a pot of chunky soup with crusty bread to warm up the tummy!

Its that time of the year where we get out our jackets and jerseys, scarves, gloves, caps and shawls, and of course our boots. Its a great time for shopping too ;-)

Its also that time year where I’d rather be cuddling under the blankets and watching movies or reading a book, instead of getting up and going to work!

However there are a few events taking place and for those of us who would like to go out, perhaps you’d consider going to one of these events. I’ll be listing them weekly so keep checking back to be updated.

There’s the march against the ban of the Niqaab in France on the 20th May 2011 as mentioned in my previous post.

On the 22nd May 2011, Ask Nanima is hosting a Home Industry Expo at the Botanical Gardens in Emmarentia. Lots of fun for the kids, shopping for the ladies, fishing for the men and food for all!

Also, they’ll be collecting kitchen appliances, toys and clothes for various charities/hospitals/ orphanages! So if you have anything to donate please take it along.

If you’re into books, a great book has just been released by Shubnum Khan, a local author, which is called Onion Tears*.
Its available from Exclusive Books.

More events will be listed soon.

XOXO

Back To Life, Back To Reality

Its Monday 10th of January 2011.

When I realised that this morning, all I wanted to do is pull the duvet over my head and go back to sleep..!

Unfortunately reality wouldn’t allow that and so I got up inorder to answer the bell at the door which had just rung.

So off I go in ‘pantoffels’ and gown to answer the bell and let the maid in.

And so begins my work day, I begin at 9am so I grab a quick coffee and sandwich and I’m out the door..

I had already made some resolutions for this year and I so want to keep them, but I’m not quite sure I’ll be able to carry it through…

I have a goal to lose weight, and become more fit, go out and socialise more, learn at least one foreign language and to travel much much more!
So far I’ve got the travelling bit down, ;-)

I’ve been to Cape Town for 11 days, and my next trip will either be to Zanzibar or Madagascar…or Bali and Phuket… I haven’t quite decided yet as you can see…lol.

So back to my goal of loosing weight and getting fit..now I’ve had a weight problem pretty much since I was about 8 yrs old.
So I’m going to be signing up for a diet and will be posting updates so we’ll all be seeing if it works or not..

I’m still looking for a foreign language school in Southern Johannesburg… will see how that works out.

Wishing everyone everything of the best and hoping that you all keep to your New Years resolutions too.

Tchau for now
