Rohingya,Burma: What Main Stream Media Isnt Reporting

Today my post is very different from my normal post trend.

Because this has truly been a terrible oversight by western mainstream media.
People need to be aware of murders of innocent men, rape of women and children, all of whom are being persecuted by Buddhists in Burma, for being Muslim.

Where are the United Nations, CNN, SKY, ALJAZEERA, and all other world bodies and news channels??

Is a massacre of Muslims not worthy of worldwide attention?

It is sad that the world fears a religion. Is that they misunderstand Islam or our way of life? Or is that they think they know what Islam is and clearly have a very wrong opinion of it?

There is no justification for killing innocent people and children no matter what their race, culture, tradition, religion, caste, tribe, or country happens to be.

If you care as one human being, about another human being, please try to bring some awareness of the situation of Burma to those around you.

Have a look at the links and pictures I’m posting… Do you feel in your heart that God would want us to do this to each other? Does He not love peace for His people? Religion teaches us to have faith and tolerance for all God’s creation.

Why then do we do this to each other??

Have our hearts become so hard in that it causes us to have no feeling when our fellow humans go through such torture and strife and grief?

May God have mercy upon us all, and guide us to be better towards one another.

Islamic Relief South Africa’s Fundraising Dinner

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Hi everyone

Has anyone heard of IRSA? Its short for Islamic Relief South Africa. Or perhaps just Islamic Relief?

If not, that’s ok.

Islamic Relief is a Charity Organisation which is Worldwide. It helps out in times when disasters, either naturally or man made, strike.
Although it is an Islamic organisation, it serves all people, of all religions, all places, and all cultures.

They do amazing work and its not only during the disasters that they help out, but also afterwards in order to help those that need everything from Medical attention to Food and Clothes.

On the 26th of May 2012, Islamic Relief held a fundraising dinner at the Sultan Bahu Hall in Mayfair, Johannesburg.

I was quite impressed by the work the volunteers had put in to make the evening a success as the hall was decorated beautifully, the food was delicious and hearty, and many speeches were given.

It is through those insightful, heartwrenching speeches and photos, which brought tears to the eyes of many attendees, that people opened not only their wallets, but also their hearts in order to raise funds to help those in desperate need of the basics of life.

Islamic Relief Worldwide is in need of assistance, and I sincerely appeal to anyone out there who is able to donate anything you can afford, to help out.

I do try to do as much charity and volunteer work as I can, but never had I seen people suffering so much, starving… and children so malnourished that their mother’s sit by their sides and when one asks why, their reply is ‘I’m waiting for my child to die’.
All because they haven’t any food and end up eating things like dried grass.
Babies cannot survive long and so with a lack of milk, their tiny bodies give up the battle after a small period of time.

Even water is a luxury for these people and children. Something which is so basic, and which we take for granted all the time, even that they do not have.
In a village in Sudan I think it was, the villagers dug a whole in the ground and when it rained, the villagers as well as animals would go to this hole to drink water, brown muddy water, but water nonetheless.

Please open your heart, and help Islamic Relief to alleviate at least one person’s suffering, one child’s suffering.

Their local website is http://www.islamic-relief.co.za
The international website is http://www.islamic-relief.com.

Let’s make a difference and help create a poverty and suffering free world by taking even the smallest of steps together.

Time…Such A Precious Commodity

‘There’s never enough time…’

‘I don’t have time…’

‘Time flies…’

These are just some of the regular sayings that we’ve all used at one time or another.

What I learnt in my other life, as an executive secretary, (yes, weird, I know, but I did have a life once upon a time, lol), is that even if something may just take an hour, set aside an extra hour of time, giving yourself the ability to reduce your stress levels so as not to rush and forget things.

Pace yourself because rushing through something will give you a rushed result!
And no one wants something that has been done half heartedly.

The use of a calender is very convenient these days, especially on mobile phones because you can even set reminders and type memos helping you with details you may end up forgetting.
So although it sounds tedious, trust me.. You’ll be happier and more calm instead of stressed out due to forgetting.

Don’t forget that stress tends to affect all areas of your life. Your family, friends and co-workers will mostly likely bear the brunt of your stress.

For moms and dads it is essential to have open communication and a visible calender just so things don’t end up in a ‘he said/she said’ situation as far as work, kids functions and activities, etc goes.

For us single folks, our appointments, meetings, dates, errands, activities, parties, functions and upcoming weddings… Yep, a calendar is a must to manage our days and time!!

It may take a little getting used to planning your day using your calendar, but you’ll be on time, every time, all the time!

Happy scheduling people and welcome to time management 101 !!

For The Love Of Family

Being Indian and living within an Indian community, marriage is always a hot topic.

From age 17 or 18 onwards be prepared for a barrage of questions concerning marriage, and as you get older, it just gets worse. [Talking from personal experience here.]

The thing is that for some people, when they find love, their parents are not happy with their choice and then all sorts of problems start.
Instead of being happy that your child has someone that loves him/her, and following the Sunnah, you would rather not have him/her marry his/her love, and so invite a plethora sin into your child’s life.

As the Hadeeth mentions, a man marries a woman for one of four reasons: wealth, status, beauty, and piety. Piety being the best of reasons.

But in today’s time, most people marry for love. While other’s settle for arranged marriages and make do with the partners chosen for them. Some find true happiness, while others just do what is expected of them as per familial wishes.

It is not that the family wants to punish the woman or man by selecting their spouse for them, but however, they do it out of love and wanting their child to be happy and taken care of financially.

There are times when consenting to get married is just a compromise. To stop the questions, to stop being ‘fixed up’, to stop gossip, to get away from everyone, and to just be free from all marriage talk… Just say yes… and it all stops… For a while at least.

The next questions begin after marriage and those are ‘when are you going to have children?’

What I personally find sad is that people will never be truly happy for you no matter what your circumstance of life is. They see marriage as the be all and end all in life.
Goals and ambitions don’t necessarily have a place here..

Marriage is all that counts…
And to make your family happy, you will do what makes them happy..

Here’s to hoping that no matter what…or who… comes your way, may you have happiness and love always.
